ItalyThe 1938 World Cup was hosted by France, with Italy crowned champion for the second consecutive time. The Italian national team beat Hungary 4–2 in the final played at the Stade Olympique de Colombes in Paris. Fifteen teams took part, including debutants the Dutch East Indies. It was the last World Cup before the Second World War, in 1938.
