Morocco come from behind to beat Haiti 4-2 and seal Group C in Atlanta
Hakimi, Saibari, Rahimi and Gessime Yassine turned around a wild game Haiti twice led.
Morocco produced a stirring comeback to beat Haiti 4-2 at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the retractable-roof venue holding 68,239 spectators, in a thrilling third-round Group C clash at the 2026 World Cup. The North Africans overturned two deficits to seal top spot in the group.
The match began with an unexpected twist. In the 10th minute, an unfortunate own goal from goalkeeper Yassine Bounou put Haiti ahead. Morocco levelled in the 39th through Achraf Hakimi, but the Caribbean side struck again in the 43rd with Wilson Isidor, who finished off a Jean-Kévin Duverne pass for 1-2.
Just before the break, in the 45+1, Ismael Saibari equalised from a Hakimi pass to restore parity. In the second half, Morocco unleashed all their firepower: in the 78th minute, Soufiane Rahimi completed the turnaround after an assist from Chadi Riad, and in the 89th Gessime Yassine rounded off the rout from a Rahimi pass.
Mohamed Ouahbi set up Morocco in a 4-2-3-1 with a standout Bilal El Khannouss — named man of the match — pulling the strings, while Sebastien Migne responded with a Haitian 4-4-1-1 that collapsed late on. Haiti finished the game with three yellows: Johny Placide (79'), Duckens Nazon (80') and Josué Casimir (90+3').
With this win, Morocco close Group C on seven points as winners, putting one foot in the last 16 of the 2026 World Cup. Haiti, by contrast, leave the tournament without a point after three defeats, despite battling to the end in Atlanta.
